Fifteen years ago, the world suffered a devastating disaster that wiped out modern civilization. Now, a group of children live in a facility isolated from the outside world. One day, Tokio, one of the children, receives a message that says Do you want to go outside? Mimihime, another child living in the facility, predicts that two people will come from the outside to save her, one of whom has her same face. The director of the school, however, warns Tokio that the outside world is a hellish and unforgiving place. Meanwhile, a boy named Maru, who looks exactly like Tokio, is traveling through the ravaged Japanese landscape with a girl named Kiruko, in search of a place called Heaven...
